Liston Cosmas is a freshman at the University of Rochester pursuing bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He graduated from the African Leadership Academy in June 2016, where he got equipped with entrepreneurial leadership skills that he believes will help him achieve his goal of creating a positive change in his community. He is a strong advocate for respect, innovation, honesty, kindness and peace. Currently he is the IT and Curriculum Development Manager for Circle of Influence Projects Society. His interests focus on developing the better future of Africa through the use of Science and Technology, and his current projects include developing a relatively cheap farming tractor that runs on cow dung.
Liston was recently honored with Electrical Supply Board International Award for his contributions to the development of a hybrid generator. He strongly believes that technology is a great tool to help fight poverty and develop future African economies. He strongly believes this future is now; therefore, he is taking an active role in developing sustainable tech companies in Tanzania.
